So what's happening this week in our beautiful valley. Email us to let us know!
Markets: Hout Bay seems to be the in place for markets in Cape Town at the moment.
The Bay Harbour Market, which has been open for a month now, is enjoying tremendous success and boasts about 4000 visitors per weekend. Featuring live music food, arts and craft and clothing- there really is something for every one. Open Saturday and Sunday from 9am-5pm.
The Bay Food and Wine Market is also a relatively new market on the scene having been operating a few months now. It's a smaller market set the basement underneath the La Cuccina restuarant. The emphasis is on gourmet food and produce and has become very popular with the locals, who return every week. This Friday night popular local band the Crunch is playing at the monthly night market
As usual the Republican will be providing beer on tap, the wine will be flowing and keep your eyes open for the mojito stand!
Last weekend saw a couple of Chef Cook offs- where chefs present their signature dishes, using only ingredients found at the market, explain their process to the crowd and then the crowd does a taste test to select the winner. This format is likely to replicated again this weekend.
Lions Art and Craft market is a Sunday institution which has been running for several years on the Village Green. It remains our only open air market and is great for kids- if they deserve it let them have a pony ride!
Something to look forward to is a luncheon concert at Riverside with Daniele Pascal, on the 21st August, tickets cost R80
