Dining out at Pure Restaurant, Hout Bay Manor (Baviaanskloof Road) is an extraordinary experience. It's easy to forget you are in Hout Bay as there is a distinct European flavour to the venue.
The grandeur of Hout Bay's oldest hotel together with the simply amazing African decor create an ambience you will be unlikely to forget. The subtle interiors of Pure, are just that, pure. The centre piece chandelier from Red Hot Glass in Paarl and the beaded chandeliers from the interior designers Cecile and Boyd are simply magical.
The restaurant is frequented by foodies, but of late I have started to see more and more locals rediscovering the venue. Perfect for a romantic date, from anniversaries to popping the question, menfolk will score serious brownie points for booking here. The classy Sunday lunch has become very popular (TIP: Make a reservation!)
There is no question that Pure is one of Cape Town's top restaurants and compared to those the pricing is very reasonable.
Pure and the Hout Bay Manor have become very popular for daytime visitors as well, the Manor Menu caters for light lunches and includes Cake of the Day and Cocktail of the Day!
The restaurant is open for the dinner menu from Tuesday 18:30- 22:30 to Saturday, and open for Sunday lunch.
Depending on the weather, they also serve lunch in the courtyard underneath a canopy of trees and with Zulu style umbrellas to provide extra shade.
